What is the difference between Community and Professional Edition?

Good morning,

My company is evaluating the Community edition to purchase the product.

Could you tell me please what is the difference between Community and Professional Edition?

Also we need to know if it is possible to use the Form with an object datasource and if you can give us and example about how to update data to database using master detail with a Grid and a Form. The examples that you have only update to the Grid but not the database.


I could not find an example about how to use PropertiesGrid with a datasource updating data to the database. If the Form does not use datasource we would like to use the PropertiesGrid to update the details instead of a Form. Could you tell us how can we do that?

Hi Flor,
The only difference between the Community and Professional Editions is the license (http://www.ext.net/license/).


In general the Professional Edition is chosen for "Closed Source" projects, and the Community Edition for "Open Source" or personal/internal projects, although that decision is obviously dependent on your own scenario and requirements.


We're a bit behind on answering the some of the general community Help posts, but we'll do our best today/tomorrow to create the ObjectDataSource related examples for you.
