Setting up website with proper LicenseKey is displaying the Unlicensed message

We are trying to deploy a new website but we're getting the Unlicensed popup. We have verified that the license key is correctly setup on the web.config file but the message won't disappear.

We have also noticed that the ext.net website is down, can't tell if the issue is related.

Would provide more information but the contact form won't open as the main website is down, otherwise we will open a ticket with more info about the user and the license key.

    Hello @FVNoel!

You may have set up the key correctly in web.config, but set up a key that's not compatible with the version you're running. Ext.NET 4 or Ext.NET 7 keys won't work in Ext.NET 5 or the other way around. The three versions do not share the same key algorithm.

In case you acquired the Ext.NET license after Ext.NET 5 was released, you may be entitled a license key and you should have received it via e-mail. If in doubt please email us at hello@ext.net with a reference to your original order and we'll be able to further help you with the issue.

    Hope this helps!

EDIT: Thanks for the note about ext.net website being down! We have just fixed the problem and it is back online and, no, that has no relation whatsoever with the license key working or not.

Just to be sure, are you sure the Web.config file with license key is being pushed to your online location? You may have the key set up in your local Web.config file but it may be required to add the key to the remote file as well, as in some situations local/development and remote Web.config files are not the same.

Hi, the Ext.Net key is working on another project using the same version of Ext.Net, I don't know if the issue could be related to it being a project that has no exposure to the internet. The server in which it is setup has access to the internet, but the website is only to be used in the local network, so it only listens in the internal network ethernet adapter.

If this was the case is there a solution for projects that are only to be used in an internal network via VPN connections? Should the Ext.Net key be still validated (considering the server does have access to the internet).

    Hello again, @FVNoel!

Ext.NET will only work with an invalid license or no license at all if the hosted addresses are local i.e. 127.0.0.1 or localhost. If both projects use the same Ext.NET version and same key, both should not show the unlicensed key, unless the key is invalid or it was somehow overridden if you're setting it in different locations instead of just the Web.Config file.

We cannot further help you from the forums. If you can't figure out why the license is not being accepted, please contact us via hello@ext.net and provide a reference to your original purchase (order ID), and we may inquire you with further information in order to be able to explain what's up with your setup that the license key is not accepted.

Ext.NET does not require internet access to validate your keys. If you provided a valid key the library is capable to evaluate the key from an internal network structure without internet access.

    Looking forward to your contact.

Thank you for your reply. We double checked the License key and it ended up being a problem with NuGet, somehow at some point we reverted to v4 while keeping the v5 license key in our web.config settings.

We have upgraded back to v5 and it's working as expected.

    Thank you for your support.
