    [CLOSED] Roadmap

With the news of the acquisition of Sencha by IDERA, the subsequent lay-off of the core Extjs developers and the lack of information from the Ext.NET team concerning .NET Core we are concerned about the future of the product. (Please see https://www.sencha.com/forum/showthr...S-dying/page56)

We have invested heavily in ExtJs and Ext.NET in our applications over the past 7 years. Can you please assure us of your plans/roadmap for the future?

    Hi Paul,

Thanks for the comment and question.

I'm not going to defend how IDERA handled the transition, but I respect their decisions and agree that some degree of house cleaning was necessary.

The Sencha release schedule was delayed initially, which is understandable, although it appears the Sencha team is catching back up to speed and new features are flowing in.

For us, it's been business as normal. Nothing has changed and we're continuing to invest in Ext.NET. About one month ago we released Ext.NET 4.6.0 and we're currently working on Ext.NET 4.7.0 which will include the recent Ext JS 6.6.0 build.

As for ASP.NET Core, it would require a major (basically complete) rebuild of Ext.NET and we're not thrilled with having to drop WebForms support. Not ruling it out completely for a future release, maybe Ext.NET 5.0, although at the moment we are not working on supporting ASP.NET Core.

    Hope this helps.

Ext.NET for ASP.NET Core 3.1 is now available.

Going forward, there will be three separate editions of Ext.NET, Legacy, Modern, and Classic.
