    [CLOSED] Support .Net Core

Dear, there is news about support for .Net Core?

On the web site there is no news. And in the blog the last post is from October of 2017, when version 4.5 was released.

What is the Road Map of the Ext.Net?

    Hello, @Adans!

Thanks for your interest in Ext.NET running under .NET Core!

Unfortunately, we're at the same state still, and we are concentrating the requests in this github issue: #620 ASP.NET Core support.

This is not final statement, but it seems WebForms is not going to make it to netcore, and it is a great deal to Ext.NET and will imply on major restructuring of the project to the new concepts.

I'm afraid we have not much else to share at the moment, but I'll add your thread to the github issue so we can post a feedback here once we make a move on that matter.

    Hope this helps!

Dear Fabricio, thanks for the reply. It's true, WebForms will not be in .Net Core.
Then an MVC application with Ext.Net 4.x, would work without problems with .Net Core? deployed in a Linux?
The Newtownsoft.json libraries would work on Linux?

    Regards,

    Adans.

    Hello @Adans!

It is too early to say how exactly it would look like but probably MVC is going to be the way to go through netcore / aspnet core. As for working on different platforms, it would depend on how aspnet core would handle this multi-system compatibility. I can see it can support netstandard versions (https://www.nuget.org/packages/Newtonsoft.Json/, under 'dependencies') but don't see any explicit netcore mentions but netstandard, which suggests it can be targetted against a netcore application.

Ext.NET itself basically relies on ASPNET routes during run-time and not windows or specific system calls, so as far as Ext.NET is concerned, it shouldn't be a problem to run in other platforms. We can't say much about its dependencies though.
