    Ext J's 6.2 calendar

What license is required to use this when it is released?

    That's a nice question @Z!

It really depends on ExtJS release policy.

We just found out today the documentation available for ExtJS 6.2.0 at docs.sencha.com, and it was a surprise for us. There weren't either private nor public release packages for this version, so, we are really not sure how it is going to be out and why it skipped 6.1.0. Possibly a mistake by letting that API docs available to the open? We don't know either!

But as the component is imbued to ExtJS 6.2.0 it seems that, like the Pictos font pack we incorporated in Ext.NET, the license will be just the same. That is -- if 6.2.0 would really be released. If that was a mistake that could be possible that the calendar may be bumped to ExtJS 7.0.0, for example, which would mean a new major Ext.NET release as well -- thus a new license. This is, by the way, one of the ways the component would not be included to Ext.NET 4 -- again, if ever released.

So, if the component is released in 6.2.0 odds are in favor of being included with Ext.NET 4 license.
If the 6.2.0 release does not actually make it to be fully released in the commercial licensing terms of ExtJS -- or is released under another version or a separate plugin (like the pivot grid) -- then probably not to be included on Ext.NET 4.

Bottomline, not certain what's going to be 6.2.0, we'll have to wait and see!

    Hello again!

There was a blog post talking about the 6.2 and it clears a number of questions. It was released two days ago:
Sencha Blog - Announcing Ext JS 6.2 Early Access.

It does not explicitly states it but really points towards the ExtJS own calendar component being included in 6.x license! But still, not released, we have to wait the actual release to say for sure.

Please review this again and respond. Trying to decide to upgrade or extend premium support.

Hi. Our goal is to include the new Ext JS Calendar in the Ext.NET 4.2 release. We're working on the release right now, although at the moment we do not have a firm release date planned.

The Calendar and other features of Ext JS 6.2+ will require an Ext.NET 4 license key.

Hope this helps answer your questions.

Unfortunately Sencha has decided to license the new Calendar component separately from Ext JS, and therefore we will not be able to include in the Calendar as part of the upcoming Ext.NET 4.2 release.

    yikes!
that is terrible. ridiculous that they took a standard feature, upgraded it and then made it premium. a little out of control.

Any chance you guys will build one? I assume, we only have access to EXTJS "Standard"

    Hello @Z!

We have our own calendar feature for years now. The one you always seen in Ext.NET is not available for ExtJS users. It works very nice if you don't fancy any heavy customization to it.

    - Ext Net v4 calendar basic sample

It is an Ext.NET feature since version 1, by the way.

Hope this is good news for you!
