    [CLOSED] Filter functionality : Gridpanel + Multicombo column + Column FIlter(List filter)

    Hi,

    I have a grid panel with multicombo column in it. I managed to display the selected the values of a multicombo column using column renderer. That's fine. I try to add a list filter for the column displaying its values. When I apply it does not show any records at all. i.e. filter not at all working for this case.

    Sample code below . Check the column sample. It displays 1,2 for all rows. Now try to apply the column filter for any of the displayed values. The issue will be reproduced. It would be great if you shall suggest/ provide a solution (any override or custom config) for this. Can use ext.net 3.1 or 3.2 to reproduce this.

    Hi,

    I gave it a try by filtering remotely:

    View
    @model Ext.Net.MVC.Examples.Areas.GridPanel_ArrayGrid.ArrayWithPaging.Companies
    @{
        ViewBag.Title = "Simple Array Grid With Local Paging and Remote Reloading - Ext.NET MVC Examples";

    }

    {
        <script>

                var b = '';
                if (!Ext.isEmpty(record.data.sample)) // Setting ReviewerID with the array values of ReviewerIDArray. More than 1 reviewer is joined and set as one field to be saved
                    var tagIdArrayLength = record.data.sample.length;
                for (var i = 0; i < tagIdArrayLength; i++) {
                    var a = record.data.sample[i];
                    b = b.concat(', ' + a);

    Thanks for the response Dimitris.
    We would try if this helps us. But we would like to know is there any way to do it in client side (probably any override with a combination of custom config ). Because we have 'n' no. of filters already and all are taken care at client side . This will be deviated from our design and would require lot more effort to align everything accordingly .

    the way we are following for other filters is

    //category used here would be int array sent from UI as "multicombo.getValue();"
                Column colCategory = X.GetCmp<Column>("colCategory");
                if (category.Length > 0)
                    colCategory.Call("filter.setValue", category);
                else
                    colCategory.Call("filter.setActive", false);
    Please let us know if it can be done using any override and custom config combinations.

    Thanks!

    Hi Team,

    Thanks!

    Sorry for the delay. We are still working on the issue. We'll get back to you later this week. Most likely, today or tomorrow.

    Hello @vmehta!

    Alternative:
    Use just .Filter(Html.X().StringFilter()) as the Sample column's filter.

    The reason is because the control and store is only present in the grid cell when you are editing. When you are viewing the cell, what you see inside is pure text, so the text is enough for you.

    I am working in a way to correctly fill your storeSample (the store is never being filled so the search field is broken). As soon as I have this ready I'll share this here as another alternative (which seems closer to what you want).

    I have further investigated the issue.

    The ListFilter() is not designed to work with MultiCombos, unfortunately. Also, it does exact search. With your renderer, a 1, 2 selection would, roughly, mean 1<br /><br />2 in an exact search.

    So a different search logic would be necessary for this to work. The closer I can think about it would be the Custom Behavior for FilterHeader example.

    EDIT: I've also checked this live example on ExtJS and the filter broke in several attempts.

    working sample using FilterHeader

    Thanks for your reply.

    In one of our application we have achieved this multicombo filter, the difference is we have used FilterHeader in the existing application (also in the sample provided below) whereas we need to achieve this in our current application using GridFilters (Column Filters). We need the override similar to the FilterHeader override (in the sample). We dont have any clue on the corresponding GridFilter extjs methods. Can you please help on this.

    Hello @vmehta,

    Yes, FilterHeader and GridFilters are both to filter the data, but they are different features and might be not interchangeable with ease.

    Seems I was able to come up with a solution for you.

    Please add this setting for the ListFilter
    Html.X().ListFilter()
        .CustomConfig(cc => cc.Add(new { multiComboMode = true }))
    )
    and add this override on the page
    Ext.grid.filters.filter.List.override({
        getFilterConfig: function (config, key) {
            var listFilter = this,
                config = listFilter.callParent(arguments);

            if (listFilter.multiComboMode) {
                delete config.operator;

                config.getFilterFn = function () {
                    return function (candidate) {
                        var filterValue = this._filterValue,
                            recordSampleValues = candidate.data[this.getProperty()],
                            contains = false;

                        Ext.Array.each(recordSampleValues, function (value) {
                            if (Ext.Array.contains(filterValue, value)) {
                                contains = true;
                                return false;
                            }
                        });

                        return contains;
                    }
                }
            }

            return config;
        }
    });

    Thanks

    @Danil,

    Thats really great. Thank you very much for this solution. Yes, it works perfectly for our case.
