Hi @iansriley,

The exception thrown by your code is:

System.Xml.XmlException: The '$' character, hexadecimal value 0x24, cannot be included in a name.
   at System.Xml.XmlDocument.CheckName(String name)

I think it is not specific to Ext.NET. I would suggest you search the answer on the Internet.
