Yes, this does seem to make a difference. I've been using the fix in one of our projects for two days, and not yet noticed any problems loading Coolite-based pages in IE7.

However, the problem didn't always occur regularly (e.g. it might happen every 1 page hit out of 20-40 hits), so I'll let you know I do start to notice problems still.

Will it be added to SVN?

What's the next step here guys? This is a serious issue ... people are getting hit with never-ending loading masks on ie7/8.

Do we need to do a manual change to all Page_Load events or will there be an SVN amendment?

Can you confirm if adding the EventManager.js fix posted by Vladimir solved the problem for you?

The problem is very intermittant. So it is difficult to say with 100% certainty at this point. But we haven't had a single reoccurrence of the problem on the pages where the fix has been applied (previous to the fix we were hitting the perpetual loading screen a couple of times a day). So it has certainly helped.

The patch should be committed to svn within the next 24 hours. We're pretty confident the issue is solved by the updated EventManager.js class, but the more confirmations we can get the better.

As mentioned by others, it's a difficult problem to reproduce and test for.
