Dynamic Dashboards

    Dynamic Dashboards

We have developed a dynamic dashboard framework using Coolite Portal control.*

Dynamic Dashboards Framework automatically converts a simple Asp.Net user control to a draggable, collapsible, editable, refreshable and partial rendering widget.

Users can add portlets (or widgets) to their dashboards dynamically, drag or edit them. All viewstate and page lifecycle management is automatically done by the framework and widget positions are saved. Since provider based pattern is used, you can create new providers or use ready to use SQLDashboardProvider or SessionDashboardProvider.

More information can be found at*http://www.dynamicdashboards.net.

Caution, easy for simple functionality, hard for other stuff.

We have been using this for sometime now (~a year or so) - I would be wary of the product.

At first we were wowed, thinking it would be easy and save us time. We actually spent more time and money on the long run!

The good - early features are simple.

The bad - but as time goes on, and when you try to do more custom/complex work... it can become very challenging and a nightmare. The entire organization is run by one person or so it seems. Its not as compatible with custom controls.

Also, try Ext.net - and build an MVC app or use pageflakes, kentico etc - they are both free.

    IMHO.

    Hi @love,

I know some complex projects which are built with Ext.Net, and, respectively, some teams which are glad to use Ext.Net to implement complex functionality.

We would be happy to help if you provide more details about that "custom/complex work" that you were in trouble with.

The entire organization is run by one person or so it seems. Its not as compatible with custom controls.
Please clarify is it about Ext.Net?
