[CLOSED] Breaking Changes in 2.3 Release

As per the release notes, there are no breaking changes in Release 2.3.

But I see various changes, I have replaced the new version dlls in my existing running application. But there are many issues reflected in the UI.
When i replace the dlls with the old version dlls, everything works fine.

Is my understanding incorrect, that there are no breaking changes in the 2.3 release???

    Thanks,
    Rajiv Dutt

    Hi @RajivDutt,

What is your start point? I mean what Ext.NET version did you use before updating to v2.3?

The latest BREAKING_CHANGES poses the only item between v2.2 and v2.3.

Definitely, it should not cause many issues with UI.

There is also a possibility that we could miss some breaking change (-s).

It was a bug in the v2.3 and fixed in v2.4.

Do we have some known issue section, where we can see the known issues of v2.3?

How would i know, if there are some more concern like this... do i need to learn it with my experience?

We have to do a regression testing for the entire application after applying v2.3 :(. We had to rollback it at the last moment.

    Thanks,

You should test your application after upgrading. Each new Ext.NET release includes dozens of bug fixes, and there's always the chance of a breaking change being introduced.

You can review the Svn logs for notification of all changes to the source code. A summary of the Svn log is available at the following location:

    http://examples2.ext.net/#/Getting_S...ments/SVN_Log/

You should also review the CHANGELOG.txt for each release:

    http://examples2.ext.net/#/Getting_S...nts/CHANGELOG/

The BREAKING_CHANGES.txt document should contain a listing of all breaking changes:

    http://examples2.ext.net/#/Getting_S...AKING_CHANGES/

We track all defects for Ext.NET in the GitHub Issues tracker:

    https://github.com/extnet/Ext.NET/issues

    Hope this helps.
