    [CLOSED] qtip leaks out

    Hello,

    put this in my Renderer function:
     metadata.attr = 'ext:qtip="'+ val +'"';
                     return Ext.util.Format.ellipsis(val, n);
    when user howers over the "..." gets the complete value.

    But the problem is that the text goes out of the "blue rectangle".

    P.S. I don't want a solution where every grid cell would have a tooltip, want to have just in two columns and only if text is longer than "n" characters.

    actually trying to resolve grid cell long text issue... The solution with
    .x-grid3-cell-inner, .x-grid3-hd-inner {
      white-space: normal; /* changed from nowrap */
    }
    enabling wrapping in a grid cell looks like a partial fix, since if no - blanks you got no wrapping, tried with the idea above, but now I see that
    qtip has the very same wrapping problem.

    What do you suggest?

    How to handle long text inside a grid cells? Guess this should be a pretty common issue....

    Thanks.

    I was unable to reproduce. Here is my test case. Tested under IE9.

    Example

    <%@ Page Language="C#" %>

    <%@ Register Assembly="Ext.Net" Namespace="Ext.Net" TagPrefix="ext" %>
    <script runat="server">
        protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
        {
            if (!X.IsAjaxRequest)

                this.Store1.DataSource = new object[]
                {
                    new object[] { "testtesttesttesttesttesttesttesttesttesttesttesttest" },
                };

    Well, you can achieve it.

    Example

        {

    to reproduce add a couple of more "test" to your fieldvalue. It looks the limit is 300px or something like that.
