Changing the style of individual Buttons is not a simple process.

You need to set the .Cls property of the Button and override the styles, but there are a lot of them.

It would be best to inspect the styles in Firefox with Firebug installed.

You can also change the .Icon of the Button which is a good visual indicator.

I suggest to use ImageButton if you don't want to change button UI via css (button uses complex image and has complex structure).
