Is there an example of a load on demand combo box that loads the list only once? Requirements:

1. When page renders, store is not loaded yet.
2. When user clicks on dropdown arrow, store is loaded and will NOT be reloaded again.
3. When user types in textbox, if store not loaded then load it, else typeahead to next match.

In the examples I have tried, the store gets reloaded everytime user changes the text in the textbox.

This is a good question. I don't think we currently have an example demonstrating this functionality, but I'll see if we can get something working.

Thanks! Having this functionality will greatly reduce the amount of unnecessary data sent to the client on initial load. Imagine a Form with 3 comboboxes with default values set. If the user is fine with those default values, items in the comboboxes never have to be loaded and sent to the client. Less stress on database, webserver memory, client browser.
