View Full Version : [CLOSED] Right border declared through css style not showing up in a locked column header

Hi:

If you run the code below you'll notice that the red right border of the Change header doesn't show up. It does show up on the top header. When I debug using F12 in IE 11 the border setting is reported red yet it is not visible. Maybe this is something simple that escapes me. I had a similar issue here: http://forums.ext.net/showthread.php?46251-CSS-border-disappears-in-multiple-row-column-headers-for-the-last-sub-header&p=209481#post209481 but the fix doesn't work in this case. I wonder if it's something else.

Any idea?

Thank you!

<p>This example shows how to achieve "freeze pane" locking functionality similar to Excel.</p>
<p>Columns may be locked or unlocked by dragging them across into the opposite side, or by using the column's header menu.</p>
<p>The "Price" column is not lockable, and may not be dragged into the locked side, or locked using the header menu.</p>
<p>It is not possible to lock <i>all</i> columns using the user interface. The unlocked side must always contain at least one column.</p>

Hi @bogc,

Interesting, if change to "2px" width, it appears.

#Change-titleEl {
border-right: 2px solid red;
}

You are right, and it seems to be 1px thick. I will do more digging today.

Update: It seems that the right border of the div that encloses the titleEl div is set to 0 through this style:

.x-grid-inner-locked .x-column-header-last,
.x-grid-inner-locked .x-grid-cell-last {
border-right-width: 0!important;
}

It is declared in ext-4.2.1.883\packages\ext-theme-neutral\sass\src\grid\locking\Lockable.scss:

// Inner locked grid has a 1px border. Last cell looks bad with an extra grey one.
// The rules must be last because they override default header and cell bordering.
// Must use the border-right property because we have to override the .x-column-header border-right setting.
.#{$prefix}grid-inner-locked {
// Override last border width
.#{$prefix}column-header-last,
.#{$prefix}grid-cell-last {
border-right-width: 0!important;
}
@if $include-rtl {
.#{$prefix}rtl.#{$prefix}column-header-last {
border-left-width: 0!important;
}
}
}

It is interesting to read the comments. Well, the cell is not the rightmost column yet it has the .x-grid-header-last. It is the last one vertically but not horizontally, that is it is not at the right edge of the locked region. It is the last column within the group though.

I guess this is a scenario that the developers who designed this didn't think of, i.e. you can have a multiple groups of columns in the locked region of a grid.

Thank you for your investigation. I agree, you have found the reason.

So, is it suitable solution for you?

#Change-titleEl {
border-right: 2px solid red;
}

Yes, it is. I ended up bumping the borders to 2px. It's a hack but it works for now.
