Jul 04, 2013, 9:28 AM

I have followed the the forum post via dragging files into the upload control. In february you are written:
"Though it is something we could consider for v2."

Did you have a timetable when it will be available?

Look for swfupload. I've been playing with it today.

I am afraid an SwfUploader doesn't support drag&drop functionality. At least, I cannot drag and drop a file onto an SwfUploader. Also I can't find any setting to enable it. There seems to be no info regarding drag&drop in the official SwfUpload page.

@michaeld, please clarify were you able to get it working?

Did you have a timetable when it will be available?

Unfortunately, we don't.

Good news. Vladimir extended the default SwfUpload with the drag&drop functionality.

Initially, I tested with FireFox. And I decided that it doesn't work due to some issue in FireFox. Vladimir is investigating it.

It appears to be working well in Chrome.

Also it should work in IE10, but not in previous versions, because they don't support it.

The relevant properties of SwfUploader.

FileDropAnywhere true/false

Setting to true means that droppping a file anywhere on a page will trigger uploading.

DragDropElement string

Set up an id of some element to trigger uploading, when a file is dropped onto that element.

The issue with FireFox should be fixed now, the fix has been committed to SVN.

SwfUploader has been renamed to MultiUpload. So, it will appear in the v2.3 release as MultiUpload.
